The following photos were taking during my stay outside Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Normally my  process of taking photos first involves engaging my subject (either w a warm greeting, silly joke, or a even a quick smile) On this rainy afternoon I decided to venture out, only using my camera after being engaged by someone. Being instigated (whether it be a with a genuine “hello” or a very loaded “hey baby”) made me feel like I was the subject for once, like I was actively being pulled inside someone else’s personal space rather than sneaking in. These photos are the first in this ongoing series.
